We celebrate the wedding of our daughter Andrea and David Moses, which took place yesterday in the Chapel, and we rejoice that two more grandchildren will join our family in December when Jason & Laura and Sara & Eric welcome their new babies. We also thank God for the great gift He has given us of a church family whose love and encouragement are a continual source of joy and blessing in our lives. You mean so much to us! THE DEADLINE to drop off donations for our November 14th garage sale fundraiser is Thursday, November 12th. Many volunteers are still needed to move items from the Education Building to the Friends Center, Set Up and Pricing, Cashier Station, Break Room, Parking Lot Attendants, and Sales Floor Helpers. We could use youth help to bag customers’ purchases and help people to their cars. Sign Up sheets will be in the Coffee Cafe after each service today or you can email Diane Leaverton to sign up.

OUR ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER
takes place on Sunday, November 22nd at 5:00 p.m. This will be a catered buffet-style meal with turkey, ham and traditional Thanksgiving foods. The cost is $15 per person; a child’s plate (for ages five through ten) is $10. Advance ticket purchase will be required; tickets will be sold in the Coffee Café today and November 15th, or at the church office.
DINNER AUCTION: On Sunday, November 22nd immediately following our Thanksgiving dinner, the youth will host a “dinner auction” to raise funds for their travel to Tulsa, OK for “reGeneration”. We would love for you to donate a dinner or outing (sporting event, fishing trip, etc.) that you can host for another family. Following the dinner, we will auction off these outings. You can sign up with details of your donation in the Coffee Café – look for the dinner auction forms. If you have questions, contact David Jaimes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED in volunteering to help with a ministry at Oak Haven (a local nursing home) on the second Sunday of each month, you are invited to attend an organizational meeting on Wednesday, November 18th at 6:30 p.m. in the Journey Room. For more information, contact Kay Griffin.
KICK OFF THE CHRISTMAS SEASON:
WOMEN’S MINISTRY will be hosting our annual Christmas party and cookie exchange on Wednesday, December 2nd from 7 – 9 p.m. at the home of Beth Stanfield. Join us for a time of fellowship with other women, festive refreshments, and a Christmas devotional to center us around the real meaning of Christmas. Please bring 2-3 dozen of your favorite Christmas cookies. We will put together tins of cookies – some for you and some to share with others in our community. LADIES, stop by the kiosk to pick up a brochure for our 2016 Women’s Retreat – Bread of Life. We will be heading to T Bar M Resort in New Braunfels, January 29th – 31st. Our speaker this year will be Cindy Dawson and we welcome Katie Newton as our worship leader. The cost for quadruple occupancy is $170 (there are also a limited number of single occupancy rooms) if your registration form and $100 deposit are received in the church office by Friday, January 15th. ATTENTION YOUTH: reGeneration is a meaningful gathering of Friends students in Mid-America Friends Churches for the purposes of deepening our relationship to Christ and sending out a new generation of disciple-makers, while also making connections between Friends Church youth from different churches and adult supporters from across our yearly meeting. This is an important gathering for our Mid-America youth, and we are excited to go December 28th – 31st! Any students ages 13-19 are welcome, as well as adults who are interested to come participate and serve as “coaches” for students at this gathering. The cost is $239 per person (the first $100 of which is due by Nov.18). We hope to raise all of our travel expenses through the Dinner Auction at our Thanksgiving dinner again this year, so that the only additional expense will be around $50 in food money for the trip up and back.
