THE FLOWERS ON THE ALTAR TODAY are presented by Carmen Garcia.“Happy Anniversary to the love of my life. Today I will sit and think of all the beautiful memories we made together. Although you are no longer here, there is never a day that I don’t think about you. Still loving you with all my heart, Carmen.”

THE USHER MINISTRY in our Friendswood Friends Church is in need of volunteers for either service for the coming year. Give yourself that opportunity to meet other members of our congregation as well as fulfilling your willingness to serve the Lord. For additional information, please contact Mike or Teresa Wentz.

THANK YOU to Janet Black and all the carolers for the joyful music that they shared Tuesday evening. It was a blessing to all who heard it. – Mary Beauchamp

ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12TH from 4 – 8 p.m. the Oyster Creek Community Volunteer Fire Department will host their annual Christmas Celebration. There will be hayrides on the fire truck, crafts, Santa, s’mores, hot dogs, etc. This is a very fun, family-friendly event and requires a lot of volunteers to serve food, clean tables, help kids with crafts, etc. If you would like to help please contact Diane Leaverton.

THE CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP will take place on December 13th from 9:30 – 11:45 a.m. Children in preschool through 5th grade will have a Christmas celebration with crafts, games, refreshments and stories.

AND YOU will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8 – Our December Minute for Missions highlights all our mission fields – here and there. Please continue to pray for our mission fields and missionaries across the globe and here at home. Our thanks to our church family for your steadfast support of missions. The Missions Team covets your prayers as we prayerfully try to discern God’s vision for missions at Friendswood Friends Church. Give – Pray – Serve. Will you join us in “Fanning the Flame”?

DURING THIS ADVENT SEASON, we invite you to remember the 4 tenets of the Advent Conspiracy that we as a church have focused on for the past several years: Worship Fully, Spend Less, Give More and Love All. As you consider ways that you can give to bless others, you are encouraged to look at the EFM Christmas catalog that is enclosed in today’s bulletin. Instead of spending hours at the mall shopping for a gift that may never be used, why not honor a loved one with a gift that will truly make a difference in someone’s life? See the brochure for more information on how to donate, or go to friendsmission.com. Another option for giving is Kids Hope USA, the organization that we are partnering with to reach out to at risk children in our local schools. Donations can be sent to KHUSA at 100 S Pine Street Suite 280 Zeeland, MI 49464, or donate online at www.kidshopeusa.org.

ATTENTION YOUTH: reGeneration is a meaningful gathering of Friends students in Mid-America Friends Churches for the purposes of deepening our relationship to Christ and sending out a new generation of disciple-makers, while also making connections between Friends Church youth from different churches and adult supporters from across our yearly meeting. This is an important gathering for our Mid-America youth, and we are excited to go December 28th – 31st! Any students ages 13-19 are welcome, as well as adults who are interested to come participate and serve as “coaches” for students at this gathering. The cost is $252 per person plus $50 in food money for the trip up and back. You can register now at www.efcmaym.org/regeneration, and if you have any questions please contact David Jaimes at jaimes@friendswoodfriends.org.

CALLING ALL JR & SR HIGH STUDENTS! We are forming a singing group that will learn worship music and then present it on Sunday mornings several times a year. Does this sound like something that you would like to join? The first meeting will take place on Sunday, January 10th at 7 p.m. in the Friends Center. Please contact Jamie Royle for more information.
