THE FLOWER CHART for 2016 has been posted in the foyer. You are invited to sign up for a date to provide the altar flowers in honor of a loved one or a special occasion in your family. Just sign your name by the date you have chosen – you’ll get a reminder card in the mail shortly before your chosen date.

YOU ARE INVITED to attend a Refugee Services of Texas informational meeting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6th in the Coffee Café. We will discuss what volunteer opportunities are available and how we might better serve the refugees in our community.

CALLING ALL JR & SR HIGH STUDENTS! We are forming a singing group that will learn worship music and then present it on Sunday mornings several times a year. Does this sound like something that you would like to join? The first meeting will take place on Sunday, January 10th at 7 p.m. in the Friends Center. Please contact Jamie Royle for more information.

INTRODUCTION TO FRIENDSWOOD FRIENDS CHURCH: Would you like to know more about what this church believes and how it began? Come to this informal gathering, which is designed to help you meet others and understand our church. We will meet Sunday, January 17th in the Coffee Café following the 10:45 a.m. service and finish by 1:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. A light lunch will be served. Child care will be available by advance reservation. Please join us!

COME JOIN US for young adult Bible study on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. in the Coffee Café kitchen. We will start on January 12th and go for the spring semester. We will begin with a study in the Book of James using a study by Ben Stuart called “This Changes Everything” to lead us through the book. We will have dinner together at 6:30 and the study will follow. All adults college age through early 30’s are welcome. Please contact Molly Black for more information.

ARE YOU INTERESTED in Christian perspectives on contemporary issues? Beginning January 13th, David Bridges will lead a class that will discuss Christian views on violence, race, other religions, creation care, and more. For nine weeks we’ll look at what the Bible says and doesn’t say about various theological and contemporary issues. No preparation or reading is required, just an open heart and a willingness to carefully and kindly engage with others as we reflect theologically on a variety of topics from Christian perspectives. Join us for one hour at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the Coffee Café.

LADIES, stop by the kiosk to pick up a brochure for our 2016 Women’s Retreat – Bread of Life. We will be heading to T Bar M Resort in New Braunfels, January 29th – 31st. Our speaker this year will be Cindy Dawson and we welcome Katie Newton as our worship leader. The cost for quadruple occupancy is $170 (there are also a limited number of single occupancy rooms) if your registration form and $100 deposit are received in the church office by Friday, January 15th. After that date, the price increases to $195. For any questions, please contact Beth Stanfield.
