Sermon: David Bridges

“The Church’s Builder and Sustainer”

Mathew 16.13-20

COMMITTED TO RECYCLING? So is our church, and we are in need of two individuals or families to commit to picking up the recyclables from the church just once every 4 weeks. We will provide information as to how to dispose of the recyclables. Contact Mark Rubash for more information.

LADIES, you are invited to attend a new 8-week session of the Sunday school class True Woman 101 beginning on Sunday, April 10th. Response to the first session has been very positive and the participants have encouraged class leader Teresa Wentz to offer another session so that more ladies can participate. The class will meet in the Brides Room (just off the Coffee Café) on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. from April 10th through May 29th. The book True Woman 101 was written by Mary A. Kassian and Nancy Lee Demoss and includes foundational teaching from God’s Word. Books will be provided free of charge to those attending the class. If you would like to participate or have questions, please call or email Teresa.

DID YOU KNOW that you can set up to have your regular offerings to the church made by a monthly automatic debit? For some people this is more convenient than writing checks. The way it works is that on a certain date each month, an automatic transfer between your bank account and the church’s bank account is made in the amount that you specify.  If you are interested in more information, contact Joyce Byrne at the church office.

DUDE CAMP is coming up from June 2nd through 5th for students finishing 3rd through 5th grade. Pick up a brochure from the church office and plan to join us. Please contact Janet Black with any questions.

A NEW CLASS for 7th and 8th grade girls will begin on April 10th. We will meet on Sundays at 7 p.m. (right after junior high youth group) to enjoy some pizza together and study Elisa Pulliam’s book Journey to Freedom. Together we’ll explore who we are, what shapes our identity, and how we can live in the freedom that is found when we embrace our identity in Christ. The class will meet 5 times – April 10th, 17th & 24th, then we’ll take a two week break and finish up on May 15th & 22nd. The class is open to everyone, not just girls who attend church here. We need a headcount to order the books and food, so if you would like to sign up or just have questions, please contact Sara Wilber TODAY.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for our 2016 Vacation Bible School, which will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on June 20th – 24th. This year’s theme is Cave Quest: Following Jesus the Light of the World. VBS is open to children from age 3 through completing 5th grade. The $20 registration fee includes a VBS T-shirt, daily snacks, crafts and games, water day, songs, stories, and making new friends. What a deal for just $4 per day! Pick up a registration form on the kiosk or at the church office. VBS VOLUNTEERS: It takes over 100 volunteers to put on our VBS, so junior and senior high students and adults are encouraged to consider helping out. Adult and youth volunteers may pick up registration forms on the kiosk or in the church office. Please contact Janet Black for more information.
