Sermon: David Bridges
“The Church’s Message”
THE FLOWERS ON THE ALTAR TODAY are given in celebration of Travis Gibbons’ 13th birthday. We love you so much! – Dad, Mom & Maddy
BAROQUE CON BRIO, a special events ensemble, with flutist Donna Jerz, violinist Beverly Mintz, and keyboardist Nancy Hansen will play the Prelude –“Nocturne” by Chopin and Le Tombeau de Couperin, Offertory Solo -Beverly Mintz, vocalist, “Jerusalem”, by Shemer, and Postlude – “Gavotte” by Prokofiev.
BELL FRIENDS in the balcony will ring “Plain Hunt”, a change ringing method used historically by both tower and handbells, criss crossing movements of the bells as in a peal written in their numbered rows of six, each bell moving with every stroke to the next row and the next and the next, until a complete number of changes possible has been finished. They call us to wake, to pray, to work, to feast and, in times of crisis, to come together. Above all, bells are the sound of freedom and peace.
BABY DEDICATION: Kate Joy Kirkpatrick, daughter of Bobby & Shanna Kirkpatrick.

HAVE YOU HAD TRAINING in the use of an AED (automated external defibrillator) unit? The church has recently purchased 2 units – one is located in the Worship Center foyer and the other is in the tiled area between the Friends Center kitchen and the gym. Our church staff will be trained in their use, but we would also like to have a list available of individuals within our congregation who have had some instruction in the use of AED’s and would be willing to assist in the event of an emergency. If you are willing to be on the list, please write “AED” by your name in the attendance register, or contact the church office.
