MARK YOUR CALENDAR – On Sunday, November 6th we will have one combined worship service at 10:00 a.m. Most Sunday school classes will not meet that day. Following the service, you are invited to stay to enjoy a delicious Barbecue lunch and our annual silent auction. All funds raised from the meal and auction will go to missions.

TICKETS ARE ON SALE for the November 6th Barbeque lunch. Stop by after the service today to pick up your tickets.  Beginning on Monday, October 31st the price for any remaining adult tickets will go up to $15, so plan to get yours TODAY. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the church during office hours.

CAN YOU PROVIDE A DESSERT for the missions Barbecue lunch? If so, please contact the church office, or sign up to bring dessert when you purchase your tickets.

PARENTS of junior high and high school students (and other interested adults) are invited to the Coffee Café today at 5 p.m. to meet Josiah Brown, our candidate for pastor of student ministries, and his fiancée, Courtney Helm. Nursery care will be available.

PLEASE TAKE TIME THIS WEEK to go to our church website (friendswoodfriends.org). Scroll down just slightly on the home page to read a letter from Pastor David Bridges. Simply click on the link that says “view letter”.

OUR ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER will take place on Sunday evening, November 20th at 5:00 p.m. in the Coffee Café. This will be a catered, buffet-style meal with turkey, ham and traditional Thanksgiving foods. The cost is $15 per person; a child’s plate (for ages five through ten) is $10. Advance ticket purchase is required for this event; Wednesday, November 16th is the last day to purchase tickets so that we can provide a final count to the caterer. Tickets will be available in the church office starting tomorrow, and will also be sold at the Missions BBQ next Sunday and after both services on November 13th.  We hope that you can join us for this time of celebrating God’s blessings in our lives, and also join in on the fun of the youth dinner auction!

DINNER AUCTION DONATIONS: To help the youth raise funds to cover their travel to Camp Quaker Ridge, Colorado for reGeneration, we would love for you to donate a dinner or outing (e.g., fishing trip) that you can host for a family. You can sign up with the details of your dinner / outing donation in the Coffee Café before and after both services. On Sunday, November 20th immediately following our Thanksgiving dinner, the youth will auction off your donated meal / outing. If you have questions, contact Jason Porterfield.

BIBLE QUIZ PIE SALE: Our Bible Quiz Team students are taking orders for homemade pies. The cost is $10 for pumpkin pies and $15 for pecan or apple pies. You can place your order at the table in the Coffee Café before and after both services. The students will take orders today through November 13th. The pies will be available for pick up at the church on Sunday morning, November 20th. If you have questions, contact Jason Porterfield. You can either make a one-time gift or set up recurring donations, and provide information regarding any special designation of your offering. The site will give you the choice of covering the processing fees or having the church the cover the fees. On the same page, there is information about giving by automatic debit, which does not incur any fees at all. SAVE THE DATE: FFC Women’s Retreat at T Bar M Resort in New Braunfels, TX – January 27th – 29th 2017

1 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;

2 Lord, hear my voice.  Let your ears be attentive

    to my cry for mercy.

3 If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who

could stand?

4 But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.

5 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,

and in his word I put my hope.

6 I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.

7 Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is abundant redemption.

8 He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.
