Sermon: David Bridges
“Like a Content Toddler”
CONGRATULATIONS to proud grandparents, Dale & Jan Ward on the birth of their grandson. Dean Henry Patton was born to Katy & Josh on October 26th.
I AM THANKFUL TO GOD for being with me, and for friends whose phone calls, visits, cards and prayers encouraged me during my hospital and rehab time. I pray for faith and strength to help me through each new day. – Delma Clark
JUST A REMINDER that following the combined worship service today, you are invited to stay and enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch and our annual silent auction. Or, if you don’t want to eat BBQ, you are welcome to come to Friends Center at about 11:30 to just participate in the auction and enjoy some free dessert while you are bidding. All funds raised from the meal and auction will go to missions.
DON’T FORGET to get out and exercise your right to VOTE!

Psalm 131 (NRSV)
1 O Lord, my heart is not lifted up, my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. 2 But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; my soul is like the weaned child that is with me. 3 O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time on and forevermore.
NEW OPTIONS FOR GIVING: Knowing that many of you are using checkbooks and cash less frequently, we want to provide options for your church contributions that are easy and practical for you. If you’d like to look at some of these other options, go to our website (friendswoodfriends.org) and click on the link near the top right that says “give”. We have a brand new option available to you there of giving electronically by credit card or through your bank account. You can either make a one-time gift or set up recurring donations, and provide information regarding any special designation of your offering. The site will give you the choice of covering the processing fees or having the church the cover the fees. On the same page, there is information about giving by automatic debit, which does not incur any fees at all. If you are interested in setting this up, simply download the form from the website and return your completed form to the church office by email, regular mail or in person. If you have any questions, please contact the church office. Thank you for your faithfulness in supporting the ministries of Friendswood Friends Church!
