WELCOME OUR NEW MEMBERS: The Holtvluwer family – Nate, Brooke, Hudson and Elaina 

OUR HEARTFELT SYMPATHY goes to the family of Carmie Brown. Carmie passed away last Monday; the funeral was held Friday in the Chapel. 

OUR ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER will take place on Sunday evening, November 20th at 5:00 p.m. in the Coffee Café. This will be a catered, buffet-style meal with turkey, ham and traditional Thanksgiving foods. The cost is $15 per person; a child’s plate (for ages five through ten) is $10. Advance ticket purchase is required for this event; Wednesday, November 16th is the last day to purchase tickets so that we can provide a final count to the caterer. Tickets are available in the church office, and also after both services today. We hope that you can join us for this time of celebrating God’s blessings in our lives, and also join in on the fun of the youth dinner auction!

BIBLE QUIZ PIE SALE: Our Bible Quiz Team students are taking orders for homemade pies. The cost is $10 for pumpkin or pecan pies and $15 for apple pies. Today is the last day to order your pies. They will be available for pick up at the church on Sunday morning, November 20th. If you have questions, please contact Jason Porterfield. Thank you for helping to support our quiz team!

DINNER AUCTION DONATIONS: To help the youth raise funds to cover their travel to Camp Quaker Ridge, Colorado for reGeneration, we would love for you to donate a dinner or outing (e.g., fishing trip) that you can host for a family. You can sign up with the details of your dinner / outing donation in the Coffee Café before and after both services. On Sunday, November 20th immediately following our Thanksgiving dinner, the youth will auction off your donated meal / outing. If you have questions, please contact Jason Porterfield.

 LADIES – You are invited to the Women’s Ministry Holiday Craft Night on Wednesday, November 30th. We’ll meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Coffee Café to
paint Christmas door hangers – your choice of a Santa hat or Christmas tree. Please RSVP to Kody Shepherd (kmshepherd4@gmail.com) by November 20th and specify whether you’d like the hat or tree design.  The cost is $25. Invite your friends and neighbors and plan to join us for this fun evening of spending time together and being creative!

THE PRIMETIMERS THANKSGIVING LUNCHEON will take place on Thursday, November 17th at 11:30 a.m. in the Coffee Café. Our special guests, The Over the Hill Gang will present an exciting music program.  So, come and be inspired, as an American, a Christian and a senior citizen. Bring a dessert, salad, vegetable or main dish and join in the fun. Please contact the church office at 281-482-7821 if transportation is needed.   

A HUGE THANK YOU to all who helped to make the missions BBQ & silent auction last Sunday a great success! Over $5500 was raised for mission projects in our community and around the world, and everyone had a great time and enjoyed some amazing BBQ as well!  Special thanks to: Travis Mantell, Jacob Mantell and Justin Estopinal for cooking for us – you guys are the best! Chris Mantell of Coastal Maintenance and Brad Hill of Hill & Finkle for donating all of the food – your generosity was a huge blessing!  The members of the missions team (AND some of their families), who put lots of hard work into all of the details of this event: Janis Street, Cindy Page, Janis McIntosh, Dora Kerr, Molly Black, Bobby Kirkpatrick, Sandra Schell, Janet Black, Jane Beck, Ginger Rubash and Eric Royle. Everyone who donated auction items. Over 80 baskets were created and we have several items that will be either listed on Craig’s List or get us started with 2017’s fundraising.  Everyone who made desserts, shopped at the auction, bought BBQ tickets, helped with set up or clean up, etc. Please remember to pray for all our missionaries, mission fields and community outreach activities, and thanks again for the great support!

It’s like costly anointing oil
flowing down head and beard,

flowing down the collar of his priestly robes.
It’s like the dew on Mount Hermon
flowing down the slopes of Zion.
Yes, that’s where God commands the blessing,

MARK YOUR CALENDAR:  The Children’s Christmas program during second service on Sunday, December 4th. The annual Christmas Caroling & Hayride on Tuesday, December 6th from 5 – 7:30 p.m. The Children’s Christmas Workshop on December 11th from 9:30 – 11:45 a.m. 

NEW OPTIONS FOR GIVING: Knowing that many of you are using checkbooks and cash less frequently, we want to provide options for your church contributions that are easy and practical for you. If you are interested, go to (friendswoodfriends.org) and click on the link that says “give”. We have a new option available to you there of giving electronically by credit card or through your bank account. You can either make a one-time gift or set up recurring donations. The site will give you the choice of covering the processing fees or having the church the cover the fees. On the same page, there is information about giving by automatic debit, which does not incur any fees at all. If you are interested in setting this up, simply download the form from the website and return your completed form to the church office by email, regular mail or in person.
