REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for our 2017 Vacation Bible School, which will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on June 26th – 30th. This year’s theme is Maker Fun Factory: Created by God, Built for a Purpose. VBS is open to children from age 3 through completing 5th grade. The $20 registration fee for our FFC family members ($25 for non-members) includes a VBS T-shirt, daily snacks, crafts and games, water day, songs, stories, and making new friends. Pick up a registration form on the kiosk or at the church office. VBS VOLUNTEERS: It takes over 100 volunteers to put on our VBS, so junior and senior high students and adults are encouraged to consider helping out. Adult and youth volunteers may pick up registration forms on the kiosk or in the church office. Please contact Janet Black for more information.

Dude Camp 2017 Super Heroes: Is coming up from June 1st through 4th. Students finishing 3rd through 5th grade will travel by charter bus to Forest Glen/Spring Christian Camp (near Rosebud, TX) for an amazing time of games, swimming, hiking, singing, and lots of other great activities. The cost is $275 (FFC attenders receive a $50 scholarship); register with your $50 deposit by April 10th. For registrations after the 10th, pay the entire $275. Pick up a registration form from the kiosk or the church office and plan to join us for a great time of having fun and learning about God. Please contact Janet Black with any questions.

STOP BY THE KIOSK to check out the “What the Pastor is Reading” display. We are currently featuring the book Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson – a powerful true story about the potential for mercy to redeem us, and a clarion call to fix our broken system of justice. Just Mercy is an unforgettable account of an idealistic, gifted young lawyer’s coming of age, a moving window into the lives of those he has defended, and an inspiring argument for compassion in the pursuit of justice. If you would like to pick up one of the copies available on the kiosk, please leave your $10 payment in the basket next to the books.

TODAY IS MISSIONS COMMITMENT SUNDAY!  We are celebrating and sharing information about the ministries that our church is involved in (both locally and around the world), and asking you to prayerfully consider making a commitment to be a part of these ministries through prayer, giving and/or volunteering. Our theme is “Rooted”. Our goal for 2016 is to raise $60,000 to help support the following ministries:

  • Brian and Kylie C.
  • David and Kathryn Linville in India
  • Jack and Celesta Rea’s work in Hong Kong/China.
  • David Thomas and Brad and Chelsea Carpenter in Discipling for Development in Rwanda, Burundi and beyond
  • Local and overseas mission fields

We are excited to learn what God has in store for us with mission projects ‘here and there’ – we are praying for His direction about how and where we volunteer and care for our missionaries and mission fields. What a privilege we have to be a part of what God is doing in our community and around the world. Prayer is a crucial part of ANY ministry, but in some ways it can be harder to commit to regular, fervent prayer than just to slip some money into the offering plate. Would you be willing to choose at least one missionary or ministry to pray for regularly in 2017? Thank you to those of you who are already praying faithfully! If you would like to learn more about what we are planning for missions, you are encouraged to pick up an information flyer from the kiosk.
