“Living the Resurrection: Snapshots”
COMING SOON – A NEW CHURCH DIRECTORY! Many of you have been asking for a photo directory to help you get to know the names of others in our congregation, as well as have access to contact info for things like sympathy cards, invitations, etc. Over the coming months our church office staff will be putting this together. We need your help in two ways. First, we want to be sure that our records of your contact information are correct and up to date. We are asking that you please fill out the directory information form on our church website if possible (this will help to avoid transcription errors). If you do not have access to the website, you can fill out one the printed forms available on the kiosk. Please be careful to write legibly, and return your completed form to the church office or put it in the offering plate. The second thing that we need is a photo of each family, couple or individual. If you have a photo already that you can send to the office in digital format, please email it to email@example.com. These do not have to be professional pictures; a snapshot taken with your phone is great. If you do not have a current photo, we will have a few “picture Sundays” during May when people will be available to take a quick picture of you after the service – watch for more information. Thank you for helping us to create this directory, which we hope will be helpful in bringing us closer together as a community of faith.
THERE ARE STILL A FEW OPEN SPOTS AVAILABLE for the 2017 Dude Camp “Super Heroes”. If you would like to register your 3rd, 4th or 5th grader, please do so by the end of this week.
ARE YOU GRADUATING from high school or college this year? We want to honor you in our special graduation bulletin on May 21st. Graduating students or their parents are asked to contact the church office at 281-482-7821 or firstname.lastname@example.org with the student’s name, the school that he or she will graduate from and the degree and major (for college students). High school graduates will be honored during the 10:45 a.m. service on May 21st
THANK YOU to all of the volunteers from our congregation and from our Boy Scout troop who helped out with the Clear Creek Cleanup sponsored by Green Friends last Saturday. We appreciate your willingness to give some of your time on a holiday weekend to participate in a project like this that makes a difference in our community.
THE WORKDAY that had been scheduled for Saturday, April 22nd to fill in low spots on the front lawn of the church has been postponed due to the rainy weather. We are hoping to reschedule for the weekend of April 29th or May 6th, depending on the weather. In addition to working on one of those Saturdays, we are also hoping to have the dirt delivered on a Thursday and get started on the project on Thursday and Friday. If you would like to be notified once the work day is rescheduled in case you might be able to help on one of the new dates, please contact the church office.
OUR 2017 VBS IS FULL, BUT WE STILL NEED VBS VOLUNTEERS: It takes over 100 volunteers to put on our VBS, so junior and senior high students and adults are encouraged to consider helping out. Adult and youth volunteers may pick up registration forms on the kiosk or in the church office. Please contact Janet Black for more information.
