Sermon:  David Bridges
Hospitable Hospitality

THE FLOWERS ON THE ALTAR TODAY are given in loving memory of my husband, Sidney Allbritton, who I miss every day; as well as in appreciation for my church family. I am so grateful for the loving care that all of you have shown to me during this difficult time since Sidney passed away, for the wonderful funeral meal, and all of the ways that you continue be a blessing to me. With love and gratitude, Sandi Allbritton

SUMMER OFFICE SCHEDULE: In order to save on costs over the summer months, the church office will be closed on the following Thursdays: July 27th and August 3rd & 10th. We’ll be back to our regular schedule for the start of the school year.

BACK TO SCHOOL BOUTIQUE presented by Women’s and Missions ministries: Come and shop for back to school clothes for everyone! We will have men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and accessories. Save the sale dates of Wednesday, August 2nd at 6:30 p.m. and the morning of Saturday, August 5th. We will be taking donations of new or gently used adult and children’s clothing (preferably on hangers) from now through the end of July. We would also like to collect accessories like purses, backpacks, scarves and jewelry. Please take all donations directly to the old preschool room in the Education Building (just past the parlor). For more information contact Molly Black or Katelyn Sanders.

CHILI’S RESTAURANT is sponsoring Family Promise of Clear Creek through their “Give Back Program”. On Sunday July 30th, when you visit one of the participating Chili’s restaurants in Pearland, Family Promise will receive 20% of whatever you spend. Make sure to pick up a flier from the kiosk and present it to the server before ordering and ENJOY!

STUDENT MINISTRY SUMMER ACTIVITIES are underway with our new youth pastor, Josiah Brown.  On Sunday evenings, Open Gym takes place from 6-7 for junior high and 7-8 for senior high. This is an informal time of games, snacks, and having fun together. (Students who have just completed 8th grade will stay with the junior high group until mid-August, when they will move up to the senior high youth group.) On Thursdays throughout July, both junior and senior high students are invited to join us for service trips to various ministry sites around the Houston/Galveston area. We’ll learn about some of the different types of ministry going on in our community while getting some “hands on” service experience, along with getting to know one another and having fun. Space is limited, so sign up in advance with Josiah. During August we’ll have some Thursday outings to places like the beach, Putt Putt, etc. along with our lake parties on August 13th. More details will be available soon. For more information on any of these events, check out the church website or contact Josiah at  josiah@friendswoodfriends.org.

HEY STUDENT MINISTRIES VOLUNTEERS! Thank you so much for your past faithfulness in serving our youth! This is an invitation for anyone who wants to learn more about how they can help serve with Jr. High and Sr. High students. If this is you, please plan to attend the Student Ministries volunteer meeting on August 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the Friends Center after the 10 a.m. worship service lets out. If you’d like more information, call Josiah Brown at 281-482-7821, or email him at josiah@friendswoodfriends.org.

PICKLEBALL takes place in the church gym on Monday evenings from 7:30-9.  Everyone is welcome to come play – we switch around with different partners and enjoy getting to know some of the people from our community who come to have fun and get some exercise in a nice, cool gym.
