OCTOBER IS PASTOR APPRECIATION MONTH! Our presiding clerk and church coordinators encourage you to find a way to express appreciation to our pastors who serve so faithfully. Many of us have a tradition of showing appreciation with gift cards, which are much appreciated, but here are some other ideas for gestures that would be meaningful to them: 1. Come to church EVERY Sunday in October! 2. Invite a friend to come with you.  3. Commit to pray for our pastors every day in October – and let them know that you are doing so.  4. Take time to send a note or email mentioning specific ways that they have been a blessing to you.

STOP BY the “What the Pastor Is Reading” display at the kiosk to pick up a copy of Mending the Divides by Jon Huckins and Jer Swigart. The cost is $15 per book. Huckins and Swigart believe that because peacemaking is the mission of God, it should also be the vocation of his people. So peace is no longer understood as merely the absence of conflict―peace is when relationships once severed have been repaired and restored. Mending the Divides equips disciples of Jesus to move toward conflict and seek the restoration of our relationships, our communities, and our world, offering practical steps to engage in the kingdom-building work of waging peace. If you want to take a copy, just leave your $15 in the basket.
