A FLU SHOT CLINIC is taking place TODAY from 9:30-11:30 a.m. No appointment is necessary, just stop by the Coffee Café to get your shot. The high dose shots for senior citizens will also be available. Bring your insurance card with you as many plans cover the cost of flu shots.

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK everyone who helped us through our journey during Mike’s illness and passing. So many of you were praying for us, and we could feel those prayers. We appreciate all the cards, texts, and emails that you sent letting us know that you were thinking of us. We appreciate all of Bobby’s hospital visits with Mike; some of those visits were very difficult. We appreciate the meals you provided to nourish and strengthen our bodies during our crisis. We appreciate all the support we received as we planned Mike’s funeral, burial and reception. We appreciate the texts and emails that we are still receiving, letting us know that you are thinking of us as we grieve. We are so appreciative that we are a part of such a wonderful church family, and we thank God for bringing us to Friendswood Friends Church! – Diane Leaverton & Family

STOP BY THE MISSIONS TABLE in the foyer to see the beautiful quilt created by the “Bee Pieceful” Quilting group that meets at our church. The quilt was donated by these ladies to be used as a fundraiser for missions in gratitude for allowing them to meet here, and will be raffled off in December. Tickets are available for $10 each, with 100% of the proceeds going to our missions fund. The quilt would make a great Christmas gift, or a beautiful addition to your own home, while also helping to bless our missionaries who are serving faithfully around the world. You can pick up tickets from now through mid-December.

THERE WILL BE A CONGREGATIONAL BUSINESS MEETING on Sunday, November 5th following the worship service. We will be discussing future plans for the parsonage as well as the possibility of an SBA loan for repairs related to our Harvey damage. Everyone is welcome to attend.

FFC Women’s Retreat: “SERIOUSLY GOD??” Seeking Christ in the midst of every storm, at Camp Tejas in Giddings, TX – February 2nd – 4th 2018.

SAVE THE DATE! Our annual Thanksgiving dinner will take place on Sunday, November 19th at 5:00 p.m. This will be a catered dinner of turkey, ham and all the trimmings. Tickets will go on sale soon, but meanwhile mark your calendar and plan to join us for a delicious meal and the opportunity to spend time together as a church family as we celebrate and give thanks for God’s many blessings to us. The dinner will be followed by our traditional auction – see the next announcement for how you can help!

AUCTION FOR MISSIONS: This year’s Thanksgiving auction will benefit missions at home and abroad! Because the reGeneration trip for our students is taking place in Dickinson this year, they do not need to raise travel costs. However, our missions fund is in serious need of a “shot in the arm” to finish out our yearly commitments to missionaries and local ministries. So for this year only, all proceeds from the Thanksgiving auction will go to missions. Would you consider donating something that could be part of the auction? Our main focus for donated items is dinners or outings that also involve building relationships.  For example, you could donate something like an Italian dinner in your home, or a fishing trip on your boat, or you could donate a meal that you would host at a particular restaurant. Along with these dinners or outings, we would also accept items such as use of a vacation home, a themed gift basket, tickets to a sporting event, etc. These items will be auctioned off immediately following the meal on November 19th. If you are willing to donate something for the auction, please sign up with details at the pie sale table following the service. For questions, contact Bobby Kirkpatrick, Josiah Brown or Molly Black. Thanks for helping to bless our mission work locally and around the world!
