THE HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH IN FRIENDSWOOD will be hosting a community wide Thanksgiving Eve Worship Service to give thanks to God for all His blessings and goodness toward us. Special recognition will be given to first responders in our community who worked so hard during Hurricane Harvey. The service will take place on Wednesday, November 22nd at 7:00 p.m. in the  Hope Lutheran Church sanctuary. Everyone is invited. 

THE FOOD PANTRY thanks you for your ongoing support. Items that are critically needed at this time are; peanut butter, jelly, boxed macaroni & cheese, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, rice, dry beans, cake mixes, canned frosting, sweet bread mixes (ie; banana & pumpkin) and personal care items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo & deoderant. A complete list is available on the kiosk.

THE CHURCH OFFICE will close at noon on Wednesday, November 22nd and remain closed November 23rd & 24th for Thanksgiving.

OUR THANKSGIVING DINNER takes place in the Coffee Café at 5 p.m. today. There are a few tickets left which will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you’d like to attend stop by the Coffee Café after church to purchase your tickets ($15 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-12).  Or, you are welcome to come at about 5:30 to enjoy free dessert and a live auction which will benefit missions. There are some exciting items for our auction for this year, including a beautiful oak bench made by Roy Skeeter, tickets to a Texans game including transportation by limousine, a 7-day stay at a beautiful condo in Angel Fire, New Mexico (sleeps nine), some amazing dinners, a golf basket, fishing basket, and much more!  You can get some great Christmas gifts or a treat for yourself while also helping to support ministries locally and around the world! 

WOMEN’S MINISTRY will be hosting our annual Christmas party and cookie exchange on Thursday, December 14th from 7 – 9 p.m. at the home of Beth Stanfield Join us for a time of fellowship with other women, festive refreshments, and a Christmas devotional to center us around the real meaning of Christmas. Please bring 2-3 dozen of your favorite Christmas cookies. We will put together tins of cookies – some for you and some to share with others in our community. STOP BY THE MISSIONS TABLE in the Coffee Café to see the beautiful quilt created by the “Bee Pieceful” Quilting group that meets at our church. The quilt was donated by these ladies to be used as a fundraiser for missions in gratitude for allowing them to meet here, and will be raffled off in December. Tickets are available for $10 each, with 100% of the proceeds going to our missions fund. REMINDER: The missions team is selling cookbooks in the Coffee Café for $15! Thanks for supporting our commitments to missionaries and ministries.

JOIN US for our annual Christmas caroling and hayride on Tuesday, December 5th. We will meet for free pizza (donations will be accepted) at 4:30 p.m. in the Coffee Café then load up the hay wagons at 5 p.m. and head out to sing Christmas carols around town & then join in the festivities at the Brown Museum tree lighting event at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to participate; but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Come make some memories and ride over the creeks and through the wood – rain, snow, shine, cold or warm! THE CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP will take place on December 10th from 9 – 11 a.m. Children in preschool through 5th grade will have a Christmas celebration with crafts, games, refreshments and stories.
