BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR DECEMBER 10, 2017

Sermon: David Bridges
“Life, Love and Laughter”
Ezekiel 37.1-14

WOMEN’S MINISTRY will be hosting our annual Christmas party and cookie exchange on Thursday, December 14th from 7 – 9 p.m. at the home of Beth Stanfield. Join us for a time of fellowship with other women, festive refreshments, and a Christmas devotional to center us around the real meaning of Christmas. Please bring 2-3 dozen of your favorite Christmas cookies. We will put together tins of cookies – some for you and some to share with others in our community. Please contact Beth Stanfield if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!!!

CHURCH DIRECTORY UPDATE: We hope to have pictorial directories available for you by February 2018, but we are still missing a few pictures!  If you would like to have your picture in the directory, you can either email a photo to joyce@friendswood friends.org, or watch for info about the final “picture Sunday” where you can have your photo taken after the church service. This will take place in early January.  Meanwhile, draft copies of the contact information portion of the directory are now available on the kiosk. You are welcome to pick up a copy to use while we are waiting for the pictorial directories. Please notify the church office ASAP if you see any errors in the directory, or if there are any contact details that you would prefer we leave out of the final copy.

ARE YOU LOOKING for a Christmas gift for the person who has everything? Instead of spending hours at the mall shopping for a gift that may never be used, why not honor a loved one with a gift from the 2017 EFM Christmas catalog that will truly make a difference in someone’s life? For more information pick up a catalog from the kiosk, or go to friendsmission.com.

THE FLOWER CHART for 2018 has been posted in the foyer. You are invited to sign up for a date to provide the altar flowers in honor of a loved one or a special occasion in your family. Just sign your name by the date you have chosen – you’ll get a reminder card in the mail shortly before your chosen date.

DO YOU SHOP ON AMAZON? If so, please consider designating Friendswood Friends Church as your preferred charity through the “Amazon Smile” Program, and Amazon will donate .5% of your total purchase amount to the church at no extra cost to you.  You can do this by following this link: https://smile.amazon.com/ ch/74-300892 or sign up for Amazon Smile and look for Friendswood Friends Church on the list of eligible charities. Once you have designated a charity, you can access Amazon through the website smile.amazon.com instead of amazon.com, and the church will automatically receive your contribution. It’s a simple way to help support the ministries of our church at no cost to you! Contact the church office if you have questions.

LADIES, stop by the kiosk to pick up a brochure for our 2018 Women’s Retreat – “SERIOUSLY GOD??” Seeking Christ in the midst of every storm. We will be heading to Camp Tejas in Giddings, TX – February 2nd – 4th. Our speaker this year will be Jennifer Johnson, founder of I.N.F.O for Families and popular speaker on issues related to God’s design for marriage and family life. We will also welcome back Katie Newton as our worship leader. The cost for quadruple occupancy is $260 (there are also a limited number of single occupancy rooms) if your registration form and $100 deposit are received by Monday, January 22nd. After that date, the price increases to $310. The final day to register is January 29th. Registration forms are available on the kiosk or you can register and pay online at friendswoodfriends.org; click on 2018 Women’s Retreat. For any questions, please contact Beth Stanfield.
