PARENTS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: You are invited to an informational meeting about the spring break trip to Mexico, March 10th-16th– please join us in the high school room on Sunday, January 28th at 4 p.m. Students are welcome to attend as well. No commitment is necessary – just come to hear about the trip and ask any questions that you might have. Fund-raising ideas will also be discussed. Our groups spend time in Mexico every other year since 1993 with Friends churches in the area around Nueva Rosita and we are excited to go back and serve again! We’ll spend time worshipping together, helping to complete construction projects on churches and assisting with children’s vacation Bible school. FREE CONCERT: Sunday, February 18th – Our friend Neil Dover will be visiting again from his home in Mobile, Alabama. Neil is a Nashville recording artist, prolific songwriter, and an Alabama institution. His music can be heard on radio stations from Florida to Texas. He will be performing during worship and then offering a free concert in the Coffee Café. Please plan to attend and bring your friends. The concert is Sunday, February 18th from 7-9pm.
THE PRIMETIMERS Annual Soup Tasting and White Elephant Gift Exchange will be on Thursday, January 18th at 11:30 a.m. in the Coffee Café. We hope to have 5 homemade soups to serve so if you would like to bring your favorite, please contact Marge Kelly or the church office. All other sides and desserts will be furnished. The White Elephant Gift Exchange is fun. Silly gifts are encouraged but not required. Don’t buy anything, just re-gift or wrap up something you want to get rid of. Come join in the fun, bring a gift, an appetite, and a friend you can laugh with.

YOU ARE INVITED to join us on Thursday, January 18th at 1:30 p.m. to hear guest speaker Helen Streaker share about healing in her life. Helen, the cousin of former member Charlene Littlefield, was diagnosed with breast cancer and went through many painful treatments over a period of 10 years, including surgery, radiation, reconstruction and chemotherapy. When Helen’s cancer recurred, she found out about a procedure called cryoablation which is done in a doctor’s office and takes just half an hour, with no pain, downtime or side effects. Helen is so thankful that God allowed her to learn of this treatment and avoid the pain and suffering that she went through for her initial occurrence of cancer, so she wants to share the information with others. She will share a brief (20 minutes) scripture-based talk about her experience, provide handouts for those who would like to do additional research, and answer any questions. Everyone is welcome – the meeting will take place in the Brides Room. One in 8 women (as well as some men) experience breast cancer at some point in their lives, and nearly all of us have a family member or friend who is affected by this disease, so this will be helpful information.
