TODAY AT 10:00 AM, in coordination with “The Bells of Peace: A World War One Remembrance,” commission, Bell Friends will toll 21 times, change ring a bell tower method, and tune ring “Ode to Joy,” commemorating the end of World War 1. In Washington D.C., bells will toll at the National Cathedral at an interfaith service to celebrate the centennial of the armistice at the 11th hour, on the 11th day, on the 11th month, 1918.
PRIMETIMERS will enjoy a “Fall Luncheon” this Thursday, November 15th at Kelley’s Country Cookin’ Restaurant, 1100 N. Hwy 35 Bypass, in Alvin. If you’d like to carpool, meet us in the church parking lot at 11:00 a.m. or we’ll see you there at 11:30 a.m. Come join in the food and fun and bring a few jokes to share! SAVE THE DATE: The Primetimers Christmas party will be on December 11th (which is a Tuesday) starting at 10:30. More information later but you won’t want to miss it.

BIBLE QUIZ PIE SALE: Our Bible Quiz Team students are taking orders for homemade pies. The cost is $20 for pumpkin pies and $25 for pecan or apple pies. You can place your order at the table in the Coffee Café before or after the service. Today is the last day to place orders. ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER: LAST CHANCE FOR THANKSGIVING DINNER TICKETS! Our annual Thanksgiving dinner takes place next Sunday, November 18th at 5 p.m. Pick up your tickets TODAY in the Coffee Café, or in the church office by noon on Monday, November 12th. (Our headcount is due with the caterer on Monday afternoon.) The cost is $15 for adults and teens, or $10 kids ages 6-12. Kids 5 and under are free. Please join us for this delicious turkey and ham dinner, and a special time of enjoying fellowship together as we give thanks for God’s many blessings to us.
JOIN US for our annual Christmas caroling and hayride on Tuesday, December 4th. We will meet for free pizza (donations will be accepted) at 4:30 p.m. in the Coffee Café then load up the hay wagons at 5 p.m. and head out to sing Christmas carols around town & then join in the festivities at the Brown Museum tree lighting event at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to participate; but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. PARENTS’ NIGHT OUT – NOVEMBER 30TH Our Women’s Ministry Team is hosting an evening of childcare on Friday, November 30th from 6 to 9 p.m. This is a great opportunity for parents to do some Christmas shopping or have a date night while the kids enjoy pizza and fun activities in the gym. It is open to children ages 3 and up; the cost is $15 per child for the first 2 kids; additional children in the same family are $10 each. All proceeds will benefit our Women’s Ministry program, so by participating you will not only enjoy a nice break and give your kids a fun evening, but also support some great ministries! Students who need service hours for NHS, Scouts, etc. can receive confirmation letters for their service.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY will be hosting our annual Christmas party and cookie exchange on Thursday, December 6th at 6:30 p.m. in the Coffee Cafe. Join us for a time of fellowship with other women, festive refreshments, and a Christmas devotional to center us around the real meaning of Christmas. Please bring 2-3 dozen of your favorite Christmas cookies. We will put together tins of cookies – some for you and some to share with others in our community. MARK YOUR CALENDAR for January 13th – 20th , 2019 which will be our next time to host Family Promise. We can always use more volunteers for everything from bringing food to helping with set up or tear down, or spending one night at the church.

SAVE THE DATE: Our second annual “Hometown Fun Run and Walk” will take place on Saturday, April 6th, 2019. Registration will begin in January, but meanwhile mark your calendar and plan to participate as a runner, walker, or volunteer. There will be 1 mile run for kids and an open 5K for everyone.
