HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! The flowers on the altar today are given by the family of Carl & Henrietta Horecky who were married on January 28th, 1949 and are celebrating 70 years of God’s blessings. God is Good!

THERE ARE STILL A FEW OPEN SPOTS FOR WOMEN’S RETREAT at Camp Tejas next weekend. We have also had a donation that will cover some partial cholarships, so if finances are an issue but you are interested in coming, please contact Kody Shepherd as soon as possible. We would love to have you join us for this special time of getting to know other women, drawing nearer to God and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. You can register at https://tithe.ly/event-registration/ #/491538, but if you need financial help please contact Kody rather than registering online.

CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS FOR 2018 were sent by mail or email on Wednesday, January 23rd.  If you have questions about your statement or if you did not receive it within the next few days, please contact the church office.  If your statement came by email but you prefer a printed copy, contact us and we will be glad to put one in the mail to you.  Thank you for your faithfulness to support the ministries of Friendswood Friends Church!

THE THROUGH THE BIBLE DISCUSSION GROUP will meet one week earlier in February due to the Congregational Business Meeting. Please join us in the Coffee Café immediately following the worship service next Sunday, February 3rd to discuss the readings of the past several weeks. It’s not late to join others from our congregation who are reading through the Bible during 2019 – go to the website thebibleproject.com to access the reading plan and videos, or download the Read Scripture app.

THERE WILL BE A CONGREGATIONAL BUSINESS MEETING immediately following the worship service on Sunday, February 10th. Everyone is welcome to attend; nursery care will be available. The main agenda item will be discussion of the budget for 2019 which has been proposed by the Stewards and approved by the Coordinators. A spreadsheet with the proposed budget will be posted on our church website in a password protected file so that you will have the opportunity to review it before the meeting. Printed copies will also be available on the kiosk.

LADIES, YOU ARE WARMLY WELCOMED to a bridal shower for Ashley Bridges, who is marrying Zac Melcher on April 13, 2019 here at Friendswood Friends Church. The bridal shower will be held in the Coffee Cafe on Saturday, February 23rd from 10-11:30 a.m. Because she is residing in Washington DC at this time, the hostesses are requesting that large gifts be sent directly to Ashley’s apartment. If you purchase them from Bed, Bath and Beyond or Amazon.com, where the couple is registered, Ashley’s address is listed there. Otherwise, we are planning on showering her with gift cards or small items that she can carry in a suitcase on the airplane. Gift card suggestions are TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Target, Banana Republic, Nordstrom, DSW and Costco. We hope to see you there.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR OUR 2019 FUN RUN! We hope that you will plan to join us on Saturday, April 6th for the 1 mile or 5K races. Runners and walkers are both welcome. This is a great opportunity to get some exercise and enjoy being with others from our church and community, all while supporting missions. Sign up is online at hometownfunrun.com or through our church website. Lots of volunteers will be needed to make this event a success! If you can help, please contact Molly Black. Meanwhile, save the date!

MEALS ON WHEELS is in need of volunteers both for permanent routes as well as substitutes. The next week of our responsibility is March 4th – 8th.
