“Doers of the Word”
YOU CAN HELP TO SAVE LIVES! The Gulf Coast mobile blood donor coach is on our church campus TODAY from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Please consider taking a few moments to donate blood. Thank you for your help!
“What the Pastor Is Reading”
THERE IS A NEW BOOK on the kiosk. In his book, How the Bible Actually Works, author Peter Enns argues that the Bible is not an instruction manual or rule book, but a powerful learning tool that nurtures our spiritual growth by refusing to provide us with easy answers and instead forces us to acquire wisdom. Stop by the foyer on your way out today to check it out. The cost is $20.
OPEN GYM for kids 3 years through 5th grade begins on June 3rd and will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Friends Center. The cost this year is $4 per child per session. Children under 3 are welcome to attend with a parent at no charge.
DO YOU SHOP ON AMAZON? If so, please consider designating Friendswood Friends Church as your preferred charity through the “Amazon Smile” Program, and Amazon will donate .5% of your total purchase amount to the church at no extra cost to you. You can do this by following this link: https://smile.amazon.com/ch/74-1300 892 or sign up for Amazon Smile and look for Friendswood Friends Church on the list of eligible charities. Once you have designated a charity, you can access Amazon through the website smile.amazon.com instead of amazon.com, and the church will automatically receive your contribution. It’s a simple way to help support the ministries of our church at no cost to you! Contact the church office if you have questions.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR for July 14th – 21st, 2019 which will be our next time to host Family Promise. We can always use more volunteers for everything from bringing food to helping with set up or tear down, or spending one night at the church.
PLEASE PRAY for all of the Jr. & Sr. High youth and counselors who will be traveling to Camp Quaker Haven in Kansas over the next couple of weeks. You are welcome to send mail to your own child or any child that you know, while they’re at camp! The CQH address is 8438 312th Rd., Arkansas City, KS 67005. There are also pre-addressed envelopes available on the kiosk. It’s kind of a fun way to let them know you are praying for them. The camp directors hand out mail before our evening session together, and usually those who get mail have to do something silly/crazy/slightly disgusting! Which is fun for all of us!
