BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR JULY 28, 2019

Message: Cindy Dawson
Faith is patient. Faith is persistent.
Haggai 1–2

REMINDER: The church office will be closed on Thursday, August 1st.

OUR SENIOR PASTOR, David Bridges, is on Sabbatical this summer and will return to our worship on September 15th. Please feel free to reach out to our associate pastor, Bobby Kirkpatrick, while David is away. We invite you to pray for David to be refreshed and renewed through his Sabbatical experience.

OPEN GYM for kids 3 years through 5th grade takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Friends Center through July 31st. The cost this year is $4 per child per session. Children under 3 are welcome to attend with a parent at no charge.

SUMMER OFFICE SCHEDULE: In order to save on costs over the summer months, the church office will be closed on the following Thursdays: July 11th, 18th & 25th and August 1st & 8th. We’ll be back to our regular schedule for the start of the school year.

REMINDER: “SUMMER SUNDAYS” WITH “BREAKFAST & COMMON PRAYER” will be taking place through August 4th. Everyone is invited to come enjoy breakfast, which will be served at 9:00 a.m., followed by a brief, time of sharing, scripture and prayer which will be led by different individuals or families each week. This time is something in which children 1st grade and up could easily participate; children younger than 1st grade can be taken to the nursery following breakfast, at about 9:25. Sunday School classes will resume for the fall on August 11th for Promotion Sunday.

REMODELING WORK IN FRIENDS CENTER will begin soon!  In the coming weeks some events in that building may need to be moved or cancelled to accommodate the construction, or you may need to enter through a different door while work is being done on the entry. Watch for signs on the door with instructions on how to enter in the event that the building is locked. Thanks for your patience with this process. Although we will experience some mess and  inconvenience in the coming weeks, we’re looking forward to having a more attractive and functional facility to use for our ministries. We are very grateful to Bill Simons of 84 Lumber, Jon Skeele of Bayway Homes and Kevin Holland of Cervelle Homes for giving leadership to this project. Their expertise is a great blessing! Please take time to thank them next time you see them.

CHURCH YARD BEAUTY!  Want to help spruce it up? We need volunteers to water the plants and flower beds 3 days a week during the hot summer months either early morning or dusk. If you are interested in helping one day or all three days, please call Janet Black for more information.

PARSONAGE UPDATE: The committee tasked with selling the parsonage has selected a broker to help list, market, and sell the property. Kelly Hutchinson of Colliers International Houston, Inc. will represent the church as our listing broker. Several brokers replied to our request for proposal and after careful study of qualifications, experience, and proposed marketing strategies, the committee made its decision. A sign in the yard should be going up soon!
