WE ALL ENJOY CELEBRATING OUR BLESSINGS, especially during the Thanksgiving season. This year we are preparing a slideshow of photos of individual families and youth groups enjoying time together that you send us. Your pictures can include picnics, dinners, and camp activities of our congregation to be shown on the screen during the Chorale’s Thanksgiving Celebration anthem with orchestra. Please send in your clips to Shannon Harris at email@example.com. Let’s begin creating our production! Please send your pictures in by November 15th.
LADIES ARE INVITED to a special gathering on Wednesday, October 30th at 9:30 a.m. in the Coffee Café. Laura Seifert, the author of our fall Bible study based on the 23rd Psalm, will join us for a time of sharing. Whether or not you participated in the study, we hope that you will join us on the 30th for a potluck breakfast, a great time of fellowship and the opportunity to hear from Laura. If you have questions, contact Kody Shepherd.

The deadline to register is Sunday, November 10th unless our available space fills up before then. If you have questions, contact Bobby, Janet or Josiah at the church office.
DEAR FRIENDSWOOD FRIENDS, Thank you for your generous support of the North American Hispanic Friends Conference last week. Homes were opened in Friendswood, a meal and a service were hosted at the church, and Friends from the church volunteered and helped in many different ways. The conference was a great success on many levels and was a real encouragement to those who are carrying God’s good news to Spansh-speaking communities in North and Central America. We extend our thanks to all those who helped, contributed and most of all who prayed so that our lives and ministries would be “Rooted in Christ” (Arraigados en Cristo). Sincerely, David Byrne Director: CHM
OUR MISSIONS COMMITMENT fund is running behind this year. Our total income from designated missions offerings and fundraisers so far this year is about $31,000, but we have already sent out $40,500 to meet our commitments to the missionaries that we support. This includes monthly commitments through September, and we still need to send 4th quarter installments totaling about $13,500. If you are able to donate something for missions apart from your normal giving to the church, it would be a huge help to us in meeting our commitments for 2019. Just make a note in the memo of your check for how much you’d like to designate for missions. You can also make online donations through our church website. Don’t forget to remember our missionaries in prayer as well. If you would like more information about the mission work that we support, stop by the missions table in the kiosk, or contact Molly Black.
HAVE YOU BEEN TO OUR CHURCH WEBSITE LATELY? Go to www.friendswoodfriends.org to access sermon audio, prayer requests, Coordinators’ minutes, announcements and more! To access prayer requests, go to the tab at the top that says “News” and then click on prayer requests. To access the requests or other protected files such as financial information and Coordinators’ minutes, you will need to enter the password friends (all lowercase, no punctuation). There is an extensive archive of sermons that can be searched by date, topic or speaker if you would like to share a particular message with a friend or listen to sermons that you might have missed. Also, check out our church Facebook page. We are always glad for you to share our posts to help get the word out about special events.
DO YOU SHOP ON AMAZON? If so, please consider designating Friendswood Friends Church as your preferred charity through the “Amazon Smile” Program, and Amazon will donate .5% of your total purchase amount to the church at no extra cost to you. You can do this by following this link: https://smile.amazon.com/ch/74-1300892 or sign up for Amazon Smile and look for Friendswood Friends Church on the list of eligible charities. Once you have designated a charity, you can access Amazon through the website smile.amazon.com instead of amazon.com, and the church will automatically receive your contribution. It’s a simple way to help support the ministries of our church at no cost to you! Contact the church office if you have questions.
