BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR OCTOBER 27, 2019

Message: David Bridges
 “Angry Christians”
Ephesians 4.26

YOU’RE INVITED to a book discussion on November 13th at 6 p.m. in the Brides Room. David Bridges will lead the conversation based on the book, How the Bible Actually Works by Peter Enns. If you would enjoy processing what that book says with others, come and join us. Copies of the book are available on the Kiosk in the foyer for $20 each. If you need nursery care for your child, please call the church office.

HAVE YOU BORROWED A BOOK from our pastor? David Bridges is missing several books; if you have one of his that you have forgotten to return, please bring it by the church office.  If you need a little more time to finish the book, please send David an email to let him know that you have it and when you’ll plan to drop it off.  Thank you!

LADIES ARE INVITED to a special gathering on Wednesday, October 30th at 9:30 a.m. in the Coffee Café. Laura Seifert, the author of our fall Bible study based on the 23rd Psalm, will join us for a time of sharing. Whether or not you participated in the study, we hope that you will join us on the 30th for a potluck breakfast, a great time of fellowship and the opportunity to hear from Laura.  If you have questions, contact Kody Shepherd.

HAVE YOU BEEN TO OUR CHURCH WEBSITE LATELY? Go to www.friendswoodfriends.org to access sermon audio, prayer requests, Coordinators’ minutes, announcements and more! To access prayer requests, go to the tab at the top that says “News” and then click on prayer requests. To access the requests or other protected files such as financial information and Coordinators’ minutes, you will need to enter the password friends (all  lowercase, no punctuation). There is an extensive archive of sermons that can be searched by date, topic or speaker if you would like to share a particular message with a friend or listen to sermons that you might have missed. Also, check out our church Facebook page. We are always glad for you to share our posts to help get the word out about special events.

WE ALL ENJOY CELEBRATING OUR BLESSINGS, especially during the Thanksgiving season. This year we are preparing a slideshow of photos of individual families and youth groups enjoying time together that you send us. Your pictures can include picnics, dinners, and camp activities of our congregation to be shown on the screen during the Chorale’s Thanksgiving Celebration anthem with orchestra. Please send in your clips to Shannon Harris at shannon@friendswoodfriends.org. Let’s begin creating our production! Please send your pictures in by November 15th.

OUR JUNIOR HIGH BIBLE QUIZ TEAM begins practices today for the 2019-2020 quiz season. They meet in Friends Center on Sundays at 4:45 p.m. Please pray for these students as they immerse themselves in Scripture and enjoy fellowship with one another while preparing for the upcoming competitions. To help defray the costs of traveling to Kansas and Oklahoma for quiz competitions, the students will be doing some fundraisers this fall. Watch for information soon about the annual pie sale. You will have the opportunity to begin placing your orders in early November. Thanks for helping to support our students!
