WOMEN’S MINISTRY will be hosting our annual Christmas party and cookie exchange on Thursday, December 5th from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Coffee Café. Join us for a time of fellowship with other women, festive refreshments, and a Christmas devotional to center us around the real meaning of Christmas. Please bring 2-3 dozen of your favorite Christmas cookies. We will put together tins of cookies – some for you and some to share with others in our community. If you have cookie tins left from previous years, can you please drop them off in the kitchen before December 5th? Please contact Kody Shepherd if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!!!
THANK YOU to those from our congregation who made donations toward the cost of our new Christmas wreaths! We are grateful for your generosity in helping to make our facilities beautiful for the Christmas season.
THE CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP will take place on Sunday, December 8th from 9 – 11 a.m. Children in preschool through 5th grade will have a birthday party for Jesus with Christmas crafts, games, refreshments and stories.
JOIN US for our annual Christmas caroling and hayride on Tuesday, December 3rd. We will meet for free pizza (donations will be accepted) at 4:30 p.m. in the Coffee Café then load up the hay wagons at 5 p.m. and head out to sing Christmas carols around town & then join in the festivities at the Brown Museum tree lighting event at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to participate; but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Come make some memories and ride over the creeks and through the wood – rain, snow, shine, cold or warm! Please contact Janet Black at 281-482-7821 or email@example.com to RSVP for the pizza dinner.
ARE YOU LOOKING for a Christmas gift for the person who has everything? Instead of spending hours at the mall shopping for a gift that may never be used, why not honor a loved one with a gift from the 2019 EFM Christmas catalog that will truly make a difference in someone’s life? For more information pick up a catalog from the kiosk, or go to friendsmission.com.
SAVE THE DATE: CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PROGRAM – Sunday, December 15th
THE USHER MINISTRY of Friendswood Friends Church is in need of volunteers for the coming year. Give yourself the opportunity to meet other members of our congregation as well as fulfilling your desire to serve the Lord. If you would like more information please contact: Mike and Teresa Wentz, FFC Usher Directors.
THE MINISTRY COORDINATORS have designated a “Facilities Evaluation Committee” to discern and determine how our buildings and grounds are facilitating our ministries and make recommendations about possible remodeling and upgrading to our buildings. This committee is conducting a “Listening Tour” in order to meet with as many members of our congregation as possible. They are meeting with different groups throughout the church—groups like Sunday School classes, choirs, Prime Timers, students, ministry volunteers for Kids Hope, Family Promise and Meals on Wheels, etc. The committee will also hold two open meetings in order to hear from people who may not be able to meet in any of those groups. The first open meeting of the listening tour will be in the Coffee Café on December 8th, following worship. If you’d like to offer feedback or insight about how our buildings can facilitate our current and future ministries, please attend.
WE ARE NEED OF SOME VOLUNTEERS to help with projecting the slides during Sunday morning worship services. If you are willing to help, you would serve about once every month or so, and your date can be flexible to work around other commitments that you have. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Shannon Harris at the church office. One of our current video technicians would provide training, and you could have a trial run with one of them before handling a service on your own. Our projection software makes the process pretty easy, so if you are used to working with computers you would pick it up very quickly. Please pray about whether this would be a ministry that you could become involved in. It is a great way to serve without requiring a big time commitment.
