THE CHURCH OFFICE will close at noon on Tuesday, December 31st and remain closed through Wednesday, January 1st.
NEW YEAR’S EVE PRAYER & COMMUNION: Begin the New Year with prayer! The Worship Center will be open between 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31st. You may come and go any time in between. Communion will be available at the altar for those who desire. No childcare is provided.
MARK YOUR CALENDAR for January 5th – 12th, 2020 which will be our next time to host Family Promise. We can always use more volunteers for everything from bringing food to helping with set up or tear down, or spending one night at the church.
LADIES, YOU ARE INVITED to a baby shower for Grace Kirkpatrick on Sunday, January 5th from 2-3:30 pm in the Coffee Café. Grace and Allen are expecting a baby girl and are registered at babylist.com. We hope that you can join us!
THE FLOWER CHART for 2020 has been posted in the foyer. You are invited to sign up for a date to provide the altar flowers in honor of a loved one or a special occasion in your family. Just sign your name by the date you have chosen – you’ll get a reminder by e-mail or card in the mail shortly before your chosen date.
REMINDER: According to IRS guidelines, in order for year-end contributions to be included on your 2019 contribution statement they will need to either be received in the church office by December 31st, or postmarked by December 31st. You can also make last minute 2019 contributions through our website – go to friendswoodfriends.org and click on the button near the top right that says “Give”. Thank you for your faithful giving throughout the year, as well as for your year-end gifts.
CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS will be sent out in mid-January. Most statements will be sent by email to save on costs and time, but if you prefer a printed statement we are more than happy to provide that. Just call the church office or email firstname.lastname@example.org to request that your statement be mailed rather than sent by email.
WE ARE IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS to help with projecting the slides during Sunday morning worship services. If you are willing to help, you would serve about once every month or so, and your date can be flexible to work around other commitments that you have. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact Shannon Harris at the church office. One of our current video technicians would provide training, and you could have a trial run with one of them before handling a service on your own. Our projection software makes the process pretty easy, so if you are used to working with computers you would pick it up very quickly. Please pray about whether this would be a ministry that you could become involved in. It is a great way to serve without requiring a big time commitment.
