INTRODUCTION TO FRIENDSWOOD FRIENDS CHURCH Would you like to know more about what this church believes and how it began? Come to this informal gathering, which is designed to help you meet others and understand our church. We will meet on Sunday, February 16th in the Brides Room immediately following the service and finish by shortly after noon. Everyone is welcome. Child care will be available by advance reservation only. Please contact the church office by Wednesday, February 12th with the ages of your children if you would like to arrange for childcare during this meeting.
JOIN US on Sunday, February 16th for a come and go “sprinkle” to welcome Hunter and Kayla Lee’s 2nd bundle of joy. Samuel Charles Lee is expected to arrive late February and we want to sprinkle the Lees with replacements for the baby supplies Harvey washed away. Please bring any gently used baby supplies to the Coffee Café on February 16th and show the Lee’s some Friendswood Friends love. Hunter and Kayla are registered at Target. We are also collecting “diapers and dollars” – stop by our Baby money tree and join us for light refreshments from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
OUR 2020 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on June 22nd –26th. Registration begins next Sunday, February 2nd, only for those who are part of our congregation. There will be volunteers in the foyer before and after the worship service on February 2nd and February 9th to assist you in getting your children or grandchildren registered. This year’s theme is “Rocky Railway, Where Jesus’ Power Pulls Us Through!” VBS is open to children from age 3 through completing 5th grade. The $30 registration fee includes a VBS T-shirt, daily snacks, crafts and games, water day, songs, stories, and making new friends. If you have questions about VBS, please contact Janet Black for more information. We encourage you to take advantage of this protected registration time, because we are expecting to fill up very quickly once registration opens to the community.
MISSIONS COMMITMENTS FOR 2020 Last Sunday we celebrated our mission work around the world and asked you to prayerfully consider being part of that work through prayer and/or financial support. We invite you to fill out a commitment card today and put it in the offering plate. You can also return commitment cards to the church office anytime in the next few weeks. If you are newer to our congregation, we encourage you to stop by the missions table in the foyer and pick up some of the information sheets that tell more about our missions involvement here at Friendswood Friends Church. If you missed last week’s service, please pick up one of the candles from the kiosk – a gift from the missions team as a reminder to “Let His light shine!”
YOU ARE INVITED to a wedding shower in honor of Molly Black and Daniel De La Cerda on Sunday, February 2nd from 2-3:30 p.m. This event is for BOTH men and women, so that Daniel will have the opportunity to meet more of the men in our congregation. We hope that you will join us to celebrate with them; come and go anytime between 2 and 3:30. There will be an interview with Molly and Daniel as well as a time of prayer for them shortly after 2. The couple is registered at Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond.
SAVE THE DATES! Dude Camp 2020 will take place from May 28th – 31st for children completing grades 3-5. More information coming soon; registration for our congregation will open on February 16th.
