YOU ARE INVITED to a wedding shower in honor of Molly Black and Daniel De La Cerda TODAY from 2-3:30 p.m. This event is for BOTH men and women, so that Daniel will have the opportunity to meet more of the men in our congregation. We hope that you will join us to celebrate with them; come and go anytime between 2 and 3:30. There will be an interview with Molly and Daniel as well as a time of prayer for them shortly after 2. The couple is registered at Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond.
A CONGREGATIONAL BUSINESS MEETING will be held next Sunday, February 9th in the Coffee Café immediately following the worship service. The main topic for consideration will be to seek congregational approval for the 2020 budget that has been proposed by the Stewards and approved by the Coordinators. You can view the proposed budget on our church website – click on “news”, then “announcements” and look for the post about the budget. The file is password protected; the password is friends (all lowercase). There are also some printed copies on the kiosk. Everyone is welcome to attend the business meeting.

Child care will be available by advance reservation only. JOIN US on Sunday, February 16th for a come and go “sprinkle” to welcome Hunter and Kayla Lee’s 2nd bundle of joy. Samuel Joseph Lee is expected to arrive late February and we want to sprinkle the Lees with replacements for the baby supplies Harvey washed away. Please bring any gently used baby supplies to the Coffee Café on February 16th and show the Lees some Friendswood Friends love. Hunter and Kayla are registered at Target. We are also collecting “diapers and dollars” – stop by our Baby money tree and join us for light refreshments from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

MISSIONS COMMITMENTS FOR 2020 THANK YOU to those who have turned in commitment cards to participate in our 2020 missions projects through prayer and/or giving. So far we have about $20,000 in commitments toward our goal of $54,000. If you want to participate but haven’t turned in a card yet, you can find more cards on the kiosk in the foyer. You can put your card in the offering, send it in the mail, or bring it to the church office. Thank you for helping us to share God’s love with the world!
YOU ARE INVITED to attend The Danish Rescue Boat Installation Celebration at the Houston Holocaust Museum on Wednesday, February 12th. Our own Walt Hansen, who spent many hours restoring the “Hanne Frank”, will be one of the speakers at this event. During the early days of the Nazi occupation of Denmark, many Danish people risked their lives to help their Jewish neighbors escape the Gestapo by transporting them to safety in small fishing boats like the Hanne Frank. This display honors the compassion and heroism of those who saved the lives of about 7,500 Danish Jews during a 3-week period of 1943. The schedule for the evening is a reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by a program at 7:15, and viewing of the Danish rescue boat at 7:45. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to the Houston Holocaust Museum at (713) 942-8000. The Holocaust Museum is located at 5401 Caroline Street. Attire for the reception is business casual.
SAVE THE DATES! Dude Camp 2020 will take place from May 28th – 31st for children completing grades 3-5. More information coming soon; registration for our congregation will open on February 16th.
