And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17 This summer we have much to be thankful for. Don Powell and our facilities team have been working hard on many projects around campus: The roof of the education building has needed replacement for quite some time, and the remediation wrapped up last week. The installation of the new metal roof should conclude this week. As more children are regularly on our campus, it became clear that the playground needed love and attention. Hunter Lee repaired the gaga pit and added paint to the existing swing set; we are thankful to him for all his work around campus. As we wait for the installation of new playground equipment, our maturing playsets had to be removed. Ronnie Brown, Steve Worden, and Wes Baker got to work, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the time and labor that they provided. After Hurricane Beryl blew through, we had many limbs fall on the lawns and in the cemetery. Nathan Roher and Darron Scott put together a team of workers to help clean up the branches around the grounds. Our bathrooms near the Worship Center needed a refresh, and we are thankful to Ruth Boone for her guidance on how to navigate sprucing up those rooms. We also want to thank our custodians, Milka and Elizabeth, for their labor. We look forward to seeing how the restrooms look once completed. Starting soon is a project to create a new picnic space under the trees by Friends Center. This will be a place for BAHA students to have lunch, our Making Disciples to have mentor meetings, and a flexible outdoor meeting space. Ultimately, we are blessed by the work of all of you around the church campus. Thank you for your continuous commitment to the ongoing ministries that our facilities support. |
