Events

Common Prayer for Men

Common Prayer for Men on Wednesdays.  If you’re interested in a brief time of fellowship and worship on Wednesday mornings, you’re welcome to join this men’s group at 6:30am at the church (or sometimes on Zoom). We spend a few minutes talking about life then use the liturgy from Commonprayer.net to guide our scripture reading and prayer together.  We’re done by 7:30am.  Contact David Bridges for information.

KIDZ ZONE

KIDZ ZONE is our Wednesday evening program for children age 3 through 6th grade. We meet in Friends Center from 6-6:45 pm for games, snacks, fun activities and service projects, all while learning about God’s love for us and for others. Please join us! If you have questions, contact janet@friendswoodfriends.org.

Ladies Wednesday Evening Bible Study

All ladies are invited to attend a Wednesday evening Bible study. This fall we will be studying the Psalms using a book by Sandra L. Richter (available to order from seedbed.com or Amazon). The study meets at 6:30 pm each Wednesday beginning September 22nd in the home of Susan Dirks. Contact the church office for address info.

Kolaches and Common Prayer

Students in grades 6-12 are invited to meet for breakfast and a time of prayer before school on Thursday mornings. We meet at Josiah & Courtney Brown’s house (1016 W Castlewood, near Friendswood High School) from 7:45-8:15 am. Come and bring a friend!

Tweens

Tweens is our after school program for 5th graders. We meet in the gym right after school on Thursdays, from 3:15-4:30, for snacks, games, and a brief devotional. It’s a time for making new friends and having fun, while also dealing with some of the issues that preteens face, such as handling peer pressure. All 5th graders are welcome! For more information, contact Janet Black or Josiah Brown at 281-482-7821 or email janet@friendswoodfriends.org or josiah@friendswoodfriends.org. We follow the FISD calendar…

Drive through Food Pantry

Our drive through food pantry is open on the last Monday of each month from 4 to 5 pm. Pull in to the side of the parking lot closest to the cemetery, and drive up to the large building in back. There will be people there to help load food into your car. Donations of non-perishable food items are also welcome during this time. Thank you for helping to bless those in our community who are in need!
