Bobby grew up in both Friendswood and Friendswood Friends Church. As an active participant in Children’s and Student Ministries, Bobby accepted Christ at a young age and began to develop a closer walk with Jesus through High School and college that eventually led to a call to vocational ministry.
After graduating from Friendswood High School, Bobby graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Physics and completed his Master of Divinity and Biblical Languages Studies through Houston Graduate School of Theology while working at the church. Through internships with Student Ministries at FFC and God’s timing, Bobby began pastoring at FFC as the Student Minister in 2005 after his time at A&M. Serving as the Student Minister for nine years, an Associate Pastor for nine years, and now one of the Pastors since 2023, Bobby wears several different “hats” within the church. His main responsibilities are leading worship and worship planning, helping teach or lead several classes each week, pastorally caring for those in the church in need, serving and ministering in the broader Friendswood community in a variety of ways, and supporting the other staff members and church leaders as needed in their responsibilities.
Bobby is married to Shanna Kirkpatrick, who owns Chara Christian Dance Academy and is active serving in the community as well. They have three children who represent another generation growing up in Friendswood and FFC: Carter (15), Graham (13), and Kate (10). They also have two large dogs and two rabbits because they have a hard time saying “no” to animals.
