Our culture tells us that wealth, power, and status make us more right or more righteous, but more often it is a liability to living in the Kingdom of God. What might it look like to evaluate where we need to sacrifice in order to follow Jesus into the Kingdom of God?
As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up and knelt before him and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”…Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” Mark 10: 17,21
