Good morning, Friends!
Here’s one more note from David Bridges:
”Dear Friendswood Friends,
Thank you so much for your kind and joyful send-off on Sunday. It’s been such a great honor to be your pastor, and Rochelle and I are immensely grateful for the generous outpouring of your words of affirmation and all of your gifts. Thank you to the team who worked hard on the lunch and presentation. We love you dearly!
David and Rochelle Bridges”
As we move into a time of pastoral transition, we will continue to send updates and announcements weekly by email. I’ll include updates concerning our staff and will give you information quickly when there’s something to announce.
In order to help balance the workload while we are shorthanded, I will shift to writing devotionals once a month on the first Tuesday of each month (beginning next week), at least for the time being.
I continue to be hopeful and optimistic about our church’s future! I believe that God has good things planned for us, and invite each of you to join me in praying for our church and pastoral search. I pray that each of you—and our church as a whole—will look to God for guidance and care as we move into the next phase of our church’s history.
In Christ,
Bobby Kirkpatrick
This Week:
You are invited to a baby shower for Courtney Brown; she and Josiah are expecting a baby boy in late April. The shower will take place on Sunday, March 5th at 2 pm at the home of Grace Kirkpatrick (1206 Cambridge Drive). Courtney is registered at babylist.com.
There are several Bible Studies that are open for you to attend right now! Women’s Bible Study meets Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am, and a study on Luke that is open to all meets Sunday evenings from 5-6 pm. Janis Street and Jason Porterfield’s Lenten Study on Jason’s book, Fight Like Jesus, began last Wednesday and will continue to meet each Wednesday at 7 pm. All 3 studies meet in the Coffee Café, right next to the worship center.
