In lieu of our usual update and devotional this week, I’d like to give a quick update on the progress of the worship center work.
As I’m sure you all noticed last Sunday, the scaffolding that is necessary to access and hang our new speakers for the worship center was a prominent feature on Sunday morning. Our projected work schedules this week and next will have the scaffolding up at least one more Sunday with the very real possibility that it might be pushed to one additional beyond that. The work involves creating a new site to mount the speakers, running cables, sheetrock and paint work, and sound tech work in the actual installation and setup of the speakers.
I appreciate all your patience as we make sure that things are done well and that all parties involved in the work have time to complete what is needed. Some of those involved are volunteers, and we are SO thankful for the hard work they’re doing to set us up for the future.

Plan to stay after the service on March 3 to enjoy a meal and fellowship at the Spring Potluck in Friends Center. If cooking/preparing food is not your gift, but you would still like to provide for the meal, there are plenty of opportunities to help with setting up before the service and cleaning after the meal. There will be a brief budget meeting after the service on February 11 and everyone is welcome to attend. Nursery care is available if needed.
Sunday Evening Activities
There will be no Kidzone or Bible Study this Sunday night, February 11. Those activities will resume their normal times and schedules on Sunday, February 18. Students, 6th grade – 12th grade, will have a Super Bowl Party in Friends Center starting at 5:15 PM. We hope your students feel welcome to attend and even bring a friend! Core and Fuse will also resume at their normal times and places on February 18.
Dude Camp Registration
Hey 5th Graders! Dude Camp is May 26-29 and registration for our church families is open this Sunday, February 11 after the worship service. The cost is $350 and covers all meals and travel fees. A registration link will be posted on February 13th on our website for community members to register their 5th graders. Contact Ms. Tena for more information.
Registration for Spring Connection is now open!
Come experience ministry in a cross-cultural community and see God’s action in the context of Coahuila, Mexico Friends Churches March 9-16. Spring Connection gives all participants a tremendous blessing as they plunge themselves right into the middle of God’s work! Registration closes on February 14th. We are excited to have Melissa Smith directing the choir again for an Easter Choir Performance on March 31. We hope all feel invited to join in singing with us. There will be three rehearsals, March 3, March 17, and March 24, all at 5:00 pm. Contact Bobby for more information.
Scuba VBS Save the Dates!
On July 8-12, kids ages 3 years old – 5th grade will take a deep dive into a friendship with God at Scuba VBS. Registration for VBS will open to church families before and after the worship service on February 25 and March 3. Community registration will open after Spring Break. This event serves our church and community and requires many volunteers to run smoothly. We appreciate you prayerfully considering how you can help serve this event. Be sure to save these dates and be looking for more information to come soon.
