Greetings, Friends!

As many of you know we lost A/C in the Worship Center and office buildings in June during Vacation Bible School. Luckily, the air in Friends Center is working and we were able to pivot services into the gym (what a great opportunity to see the gym renovations). It is a blessing to see many different people come together to help with the change of service locations. This also helps reminds us that the church is more than a worship center and Jesus meets us anywhere and everywhere.

Today, the part needed to begin repair on the air conditioning unit was delivered and repair work has begun. Our hope is that this solution leads to a cooler building and our ability to move services back to the Worship Center this week. Be looking for an email on Thursday confirming the location of Sunday’s service.

Blessings on your week!

Shower Ministry Work Day
We have been blessed with several large donations to our Shower Ministry for the Homeless, and we are also in the process of moving into a bigger room within the education building as this ministry continues to grow. On Thursday, July 17th from Noon-3:00 pm there will be a work day in the education building to help organize these donations.
On Thursday, there are two types of volunteers needed:Movers for clothing and boxes. This will be a physical job that will require some lifting.Clothing and item sorters. Similar to the Monday folding work, this job will be putting items into categories for organizational purposes. There are opportunities for anyone to help serve. You can call Carter Powell, 281.703.1640, or the church office for more information. We hope to see you this Thursday!
Family Promise
Family Promise is a program that offers a community-based response to helping families that are facing homelessness. Once a quarter, for one week, we transform Friends Center rooms into bedrooms and host meals with families within the program.
Last week we received thank you notes from a few of the families that stayed with us in May. The words from these notes, “Thank you for treating us like family” and “Thank you for being so loving” really describe the heart of our volunteers, and we are so grateful for you and the blessing you give to these families.
Our next Family Promise host week is coming soon, August 3rd-10th. Contact the church office if you would like more information on ways to serve.

24-7 Prayer Conference
Last year our Children’s Pastor, Tena Roher, and our Coordinating Elder, Michelle Hancock, attended the 2024 National 24-7 Prayer Gathering. It was a moving conference that ultimately inspired our Prayer Journey during Holy Week and exploration into further prayer experiences. Michelle and Tena will be attending the conference again this year in Nashville, and they would like to extend an invitation to anyone in the church that may have interest in attending either virtual sessions or in-person. For more information on 24-7 Prayer, their website is linked here. Both Tena and Michelle would also love to talk more about their experience with you or answer any questions you may have. You can call Michelle at (832) 483-6906 or Tena at (281) 482-7821. Virtual and In-Person registration is available via the button below.
