Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.  – I Timothy 4:12

Today our high school students are on their way back to Friendswood following 5 days at Camp Quaker Haven.  During these days while they are processing their experiences at camp and reflecting on the things that they heard, Paul’s words to Timothy quoted above can serve as a great model for our prayers for these students – that they would continually be growing toward maturity in their speech, their conduct, their love, their faith and their purity, and that their growth in these areas would serve as an example for our congregation.  These words are also a reminder to those of us who are adults, to not look down on our students because they are young, but instead to look for ways that we can learn from them, as they also learn from us.

These students spent Monday afternoon sharing with each other the moments they felt close to God this week, insights they want to take home with them, and who the adults are that they can share these things with. If you see a camper, ask them to share these with you! Our junior high students arrived at Camp last night and will return on Saturday, so please pray for God’s blessing on their time at Quaker Haven as well.

Ladies, you are invited to join us on Wednesday, June 21st for “Summer Night”.  We’ll meet in the Coffee Café from 6 – 8:30 for dinner, worship, and to hear special speakers Ann Voskamp, John Mark Comer and Sadie Robertson Huff from the IF:2023 conference.  This is a free event sponsored by Women’s Ministry – plan to come and bring a friend.  We need a headcount for the meal, so please RSVP to Kody Shepherd – [email protected].  Also, if you are willing to help provide food for the meal, please let Kody know.
