In Acts 17, when Paul delivers the message “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is
the Messiah,” some are persuaded to hear and join Paul and Silas in their ministry. Unfortunately, some of the people in the area become jealous, and look to create trouble for Paul and Silas instead. The message of Jesus is divisive because he preaches love and unity. We must decide if we want peace or retribution, and that requires us to consider our influence on others as followers of Jesus.
