500 years after the original uprooting of Abrahm, the people of Israel finally make it into the Promised Land. Because of assumptions, the people are quickly ready to go to war with each other. This story teaches us to be wary of the seeds of doubt and fear that can sneak in during a season of re-rooting. The seeds of fear come from the evil one, but the seeds of God bring life. The way of the kingdom is seeking patience and understanding. We need leaders to show us how to be listeners of the kingdom. The Israelites agreed and blessed God. They no longer spoke of going to war against them to destroy the land…“It is a witness between us that the Lord is God.” Joshua 22:33-34
