Joyce Byrne joined our church staff in 1999, so she has been at FFC the longest of any of our current staff members. Her role as church administrator involves wearing lots of different “hats”, with a job description that includes everything from church finance to HR issues to facility management and much more. She likes to write, and other members of the staff sometimes refer to her as the “word weaver”. Joyce’s favorite part of her job is the privilege of having a front-row seat to observe God at work through the amazing members of our congregation. It is a joy to see daily glimpses of people faithfully using the gifts that God has given them to serve others, and to learn from their example. Before moving to Friendswood, Joyce and her husband David were missionaries in Mexico City with Evangelical Friends Mission. They continue to work in Hispanic ministry through CHM (Coalition for Hispanic Ministries), with David serving as executive director. During her free time, Joyce can often be found playing with her wonderful grandchildren!
