Dear Friendswood Friends,
God is good! I am thrilled to report that during our congregational meeting this Sunday, we unanimously decided to promote Bobby Kirkpatrick from associate pastor to pastor, and also to hire Josh Bunce as pastor to join the staff. I spoke with Josh by phone shortly after the meeting and he has accepted our offer. I anticipate that the Bunces will be joining us sometime this summer. Please be in prayer for their family as they relocate from Haviland, Kansas to Friendswood. I want to thank everyone that was involved with this, which was most of you. I am so proud to be a member of this church.

A funeral service for Janet (Jan) Haken will take place at 11 am this Saturday, April 22nd in the Worship Center, followed by a graveside service in the cemetery. Jan was a long-time member of our congregation but had been unable to attend for several years due to health issues. Visitation with the family will take place on Friday, April 21st from 6-8 pm at Jeter Memorial Funeral Home. Please remember Jan’s daughter Traci in your prayers.

A huge thank you goes to Scott Lee and Marvin Lee of Lees’ Landscaping! Scott and Marvin recently did some new landscaping in front of Friends Center, including adding new flowers and bushes, reconfiguring the drainage and adding mulch. Stop by to take a look if you haven’t been over to that building lately – it is a huge improvement. Scott and Marvin also maintain the planters in front of the Worship Center; the flowers that they donate add so much beauty to our campus. If you get a chance, please take a moment to thank Scott and Marvin for their generosity and hard work in helping to beautify our campus.

Volunteer for VBS! We need lots of volunteers to help welcome the hundreds of children who will be on our campus for Vacation Bible School from July 10-14. Adults or students finishing grades 6-12 are eligible to volunteer. For more information, click here.
