Announcements:

Congratulations to Josiah and Courtney Brown on the birth of their son!  Owen David Brown was born on April 19th.  He was welcomed home by big brother Everett; everyone is doing well.  If you would like to provide a meal for the Brown family sometime in the next few weeks, you can sign up at https://mealtrain.com/wqn9dq

Ladies, you are invited to a 4-week Bible study based on the book What Women Fear by Angie Smith.  We’ll meet in the Brides Room on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-10:30 from May 3 – May 24.  Childcare is provided.  Come and bring a friend!  Also – save the dates of Wednesday evening June 21st and July 19 for some special summer events!  We will gather for worship, refreshments, and to watch recordings of some of the best speakers from the recent IF:2023 conference.  Contact Kody Shepherd at [email protected] for more information.

Please join us as we celebrate Josiah and Courtney Brown’s 6 years of ministry among us! We want to surround the Brown family with our love and prayers as they prepare to move to Chandler, Oklahoma to begin their ministry at Chandler Friends Church. The celebration will take place on Sunday, May 21st in the Coffee Café following the worship service. More details can be found by clicking this link: http://evite.me/NK1Qse2xRc

Our next host dates for Family Promise are May 14-21.  Please mark your calendar and plan to get involved in this important ministry of our church.  There are lots of ways to volunteer – you can sign up to bring an evening meal (or part of a meal), help with set up of the beds on May 14th, help with childcare for the Tuesday evening class, or spend one night at the church during our host week.  (You’ll have a room of your own; beds are provided but you need to bring your own pillow and linens.)  For more information, contact Beth Skeeter or Desiree Trevino

Our heartfelt sympathy goes to Galen Hinshaw, whose wife Cordelia passed away on April 19th at the age of 90. Some of you may remember the Hinshaws, who pastored our church from 1969-1977.  A funeral service for Cordelia was held at Rose Hill Friends Church on April 24th.  Please remember Galen in your prayers.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Romans 15:5-6
