| This past Saturday the church hosted over 100 junior high students and their coaches for Bible Quiz Finals. These students have been studying the second half of the book of Matthew (chapters 15-28) since September and were well prepared for the competition. The three Friendswood teams took 2nd, 3rd, and 6th place out of 13 total teams. At the finals, The Frazier Award is awarded to the top quizzer nominated for excellence in quiz scoring and Christian leadership. Mika Porterfield, Luke Porterfield, and Nate Roher were all nominated from Friendswood by their EFC-MAYM peers for this award, and the selection committee chose Mika Porterfield and Cadie Follette from Haviland, Kansas as the award recipients. Also, quizzers with the top yearly score averages are recognized with an All-Star Award; we extend congratulations to Luke Porterfield for receiving this recognition. Lastly, we want to thank the volunteers, from judges to scorekeepers to kitchen servers, who helped make the event a success. We are so proud of all the quizzers for an amazing season! |
| Summer Sundays Coffee Cafe Conversations |
| Beginning June 2nd, join us on Sunday Mornings in the Coffee Cafe for donuts, coffee, and conversations from 9:00 – 9:45 AM. Each week we will gather to have a small breakfast and enjoy facilitated discussions over scripture and spiritual topics intergenerationally. We look forward to spending Summer Sundays in conversation with you and your families. |

| End of Year Celebrations |
| There will be a celebration breakfast with light refreshments on May 19 at 9:00 AM in the Coffee Cafe. Graduating Seniors and Making Disciples mentors and mentees will be celebrated at the breakfast. All are invited to attend the breakfast and honor these two groups. If you have a graduating high school or college senior, we would like to recognize them.
