Thank you to all of the parents and students who came out to our back-to-school pool parties on Sunday. It was a blast getting to play games and cool off in the pool. Thank you to the Baumer family for hosting us!
As we launch into a new school year and new routines, here is my prayer for you:
Lord, thank you for new beginnings! As we start this new school year, may our students be confident in exactly who you have created them to be. May they know your love and feel your presence with them each and every day. Amen.

Sunday Evening Weekly Rhythms Return this Sunday, August 20:
Kidzone: Kids ages 3-5th grade are invited to meet in the Friends Center from 5:00-6:00 PM. Come have fun learning about Jesus and how to be his hands and feet serving our community.
All Church Bible Study: Also, from 5:00-6:00 PM, there is an adult bible study that will meet in the Coffee Café, led by Josh Bunce and Bobby Kirkpatrick. We will pick the study back up in the book of Luke. Don’t worry if you missed the first few chapters of this study in the spring, this bible study is open for all to attend as schedules allow.
FUSE: JH Students meet upstairs in the Friends Center from 6:00-7:00 PM to play games, have snacks, and hear about God from trusted adults.
CORE: For HS Students, CORE meets from 7:30-9:00 PM upstairs in the Friends Center to worship and praise together, play games, and hear about the word of God from fellow students and trusted adults.
Sunday School Continues:
Sunday School began last week, but it is never too late to connect with a class at 9:00 AM. Children aged 3 years – 5th grade meet Tena Roher downstairs in the Friends Center. Parents should pick up their children in the Friends Center at 9:45 before heading to worship in the Sanctuary at 10:00 AM. JH and HS students meet Katelyn Sanders upstairs in the Friends Center, while the Adults class continues to meet in the Brides Room.
Children’s Ministry Check-in System:
It was a blessing to see so many new and familiar faces last Sunday in Sunday School and Children’s Church. As we strive to provide the best possible experience for both you and your children, here are some instructions to help guide you in utilizing our check-in system that will allow you to check your child/children in and out of events quickly and safely during our gatherings.
How it works:
There will be 3 different locations or stations designated for check-in: 1) If you attend Sunday School at 9:00 AM we will have a check-in at the gym door, 2) at the nursery, or 3) in the front foyer of the sanctuary before the service begins.
There will be someone at each station to assist you in printing your child’s identification tag and pick-up ticket. At the station, simply type in your last name on the computer, and your “household” will pop up. Next, you will need to click on each child’s name in attendance.
If your “household” does not appear, or if you are a first-time visitor, we will guide you through the simple process and answer any questions you may have. We can’t wait to see you and your children at our next service! Should you have any inquiries or need additional information, feel free to reach out to Tena Roher. Thank you for entrusting your children to our program as they learn more about following Jesus!
Fall Potluck:
Mark your calendars for September 10 and plan to stay after the service to enjoy a meal and fellowship at the Fall Potluck in the Coffee Café. If cooking/preparing food is not your gift, but you would still like to participate in providing for the meal, there are plenty of opportunities to help with setting up before the service and cleaning after the meal. Follow the link to sign up electronically or look for the paper sign-up in the Coffee Café.
Meet the Friends:
Meet the Friends is an informational and introductory class for anyone interested in learning about the church’s history, what it means to be a Quaker, or get to know our pastors. It is also a great way to interact with others new to the church family. The next Meet the Friends meeting will take place on September 24th in the Coffee Café after the service. Childcare is provided. We would love to see you there.
Therefore, since we have been made righteous through his faithfulness, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have access by faith into this grace in which we stand through him, and we boast in the hope of God’s glory. But not only that! We even take pride in our problems, because we know that trouble produces endurance, endurance produces character, and character produces hope. Romans 5:1-4
