“I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving” Psalm 69:30

What an experience the last few days have been journeying through my first VacationBible School as Children’s Pastor. This verse felt like the perfect exclamation of how I feel about God’s faithfulness for this past week. I wanted to take the time to reiterate how thankful I am for everyone who volunteered to make it a success. I was overwhelmed seeing the body of Christ come together to be His hands and feet in various ways so that our community of children would have an opportunity to grow closer to Christ. Our faithful volunteers’ commitment ensured that our children were having fun, felt safe, loved, and supported throughout the week despite the craziness of the storm happening around us.

As many of you heard Sunday morning at our celebration, our theme centered aroundthe incredible biblical truths that God is a friend who is real, a friend who loves, and afriend we can trust. These Bible points were woven into every activity, lesson, and song, helping our children understand and experience God’s unwavering love and the delight He has for each of them.
Despite the unexpected challenge of Hurricane Beryl, our VBS week was a remarkable success. This was made possible by the many hours of prayer, hard work, preparation, and dedication our volunteers had that started several months ago. Deborah Morris was key in making sure our Sunday celebration was the culmination of all that hard work. She did an amazing job working with and teaching the kids all they needed to know in just three short days! She is a miracle worker! The Sanders family also played a key role in making the final event, our church picnic, of VBS a huge success. Their generosity and faithfulness to help prepare the meal is nothing short of being a superhero!

Thank you for your resilience, your passion, and your unwavering faith. Your efforts have left a lasting impact on the hearts of our children and their families. We couldn’t have done it without every one of you, so thank you!

With heartfelt gratitude,
Tena

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
